General Appearance

Coincya tournefortii (Gouan) Alcaraz, T.E.Díaz, Rivas Mart. & Sánchez-Gómez / Homotypic Synonyms: Brassica tournefortii Gouan it is an annual, rarely perennial; stems up to 50 cm. Lower leaves numerous, rosulate, very shortly petiolate, runcinate-pinnatifid, with 7-10 pairs of obtuse-lanceolate lobes, hispid, especially along the thick, white mid-vein, and ciliate. Cauline leaves few, sessile, more or less entire, glabrous. Flowers small, pale yellow, c. 5 mm across, turning whitish on drying. Pedicels up to 20 (-25) mm long in fruit, spreading, strict. Sepals sub-erect, sparsely hispid or glabrous. Petals 5-7 mm, narrowly oblong-obovate, pale yellow, usually violaceous at the base, becoming whitish. Siliqua 35-65 x 2.5-3 mm, constricted at intervals, very shortly stipitate; beak 10-20 mm, 1/3-1/2 as long as the valvar portion.
