General Appearance
Sisymbrium erysimoides Desf., it is an annual herb, up to 60 (-70) cm long, simple or sparsely branched, glabrous or shortly pubescent. Lower leaves lyrate-pinatifid, 3-4-jugate, 10-30 cm long, with short, ovate, 3-5-lobulate, irregularly toothed terminal lobe and narrowly ovate, alternate, toothed lateral lobes. Upper leaves few, distant, smaller, ± similar to the lower leaves, rarely entire, ovate-lanceolate. Racemes elongated in fruit. Flowers c. 2 mm across, yellowish. Pedicels very short, 1-2 mm long in fruit, thickened, ascending. Sepals c. 2 mm long. Petals c. as long as the sepals or slightly exceeding it. Stamens c. as long or slightly exceeding the perianth; anthers c. 0.5 mm long. Siliquae 20-40 x 1 mm, straight, somewhat tapering above, usually glabrous; style inconspicuous, up to c. 1 mm long, narrower than fruit, with short depressed stigma; valves sub membranous with a distinct mid-vein; septum hyaline. Seeds, 15-25 in each locule, c. 1 mm long, brownish.
