General Appearance

Onosma cyrenaica E.A.Durand & Barratte, it is a biennial herb, up to 12-40 cm tall, with long spreading bulbous based setae, densely pubescent between the setae, with erect or ascending branches. Radical leaves oblong spathulate, 80-100 x 4-8 mm, petiolate, with revolute margin. Cauline leaves sessile, erect, oblong, lanceolate, acute, setose all over, glabrous between the setae. Raceme compact with pediculate flowers. Calyx 18-20 (-25) x 1-1.5 (-2.5) mm, lobes elliptic lanceolate, densely hairy all over. Corolla, 30-40 mm long with reflexed c. 2 mm broad lobes, externally obscurely velutinous, with an annulus at the base, sparsely setose. Anthers exserted, 10-12 mm long with partly free filaments, sub equal, filaments as long as anthers, dilated at base. Stigma sub capitate. Style 2.5-3.75 cm long. Nutlets trigono-rostrate, c. 5 x .3 mm shining, with a swelling at the lateral side, compressed or little elongated
