General Appearance

Sisymbrium orientale L., it is an annual or biennial herb, up to 60 cm tall, glabrous to sparsely hairy below with simple hairs. Basal leaves (0-) 2-5-jugatc with a triangular, lanceolate to oblong-elliptical larger terminal lobes, often ± hastate, withering early, Racemes elongating in fruit and lax. Flowers 5-6 mm across, yellowish. Pedicels 3-6 mm long, thickened, spreading in fruit. Sepals 4-5 mm long. Petals 7-10 x 2-4 mm. Stamens 4-5; 5-6 mm, anthers c. 1.5 mm. Siliquae 50-100 x 1 (-1.5) mm, usually straight, cylindrical-linear, ± spreading, very sparsely hairy to glabrous; style 1-2 (-3) mm long, thikened with coronate or sub clavate, sub-bilobed stigma; septum rigid. Seeds (30-) 40-50 in each locule, c. 1 mm long, ellipsoid.
