General Appearance

Sisymbrium polyceratium L., it is an annual herb, branched from the base, sub fleshy or foetid, ascending to sub prostrate, up to 50 (-75) cm long, glabrous or slightly hairy with simple hairs. Basal leaves rosulate, pinnatifid with triangular lobes, withering early. Upper most leaves small, simple, oblong, sub entire. Racemes bracteate, at least below, elongating in fruit. Petals 1.5-2 (-2.5) x 0.5 mm, equalling or slightly exceeding the sepals. Stamens c. 1:1.5 mm; anthers c. 0.5 mm. Siliquae 10-25 x 1-1.5 mm, somewhat tapering and recurved above, torulose, glabrous or with a few scattered, curved hairs, fruiting pedicels c. 1 mm long; thickened and adpressed to the axis; style 0.5-1 mm, thinner than the siliquae. Seeds c. 0.8 mm long.
