General Appearance
Sinapis pubescens L. / Syn. Sinapis pubescens ssp. pubescens , it is a perennial herb. densely pubescent with ascending hairs to almost glabrous. up to 60-80 cm tall. Basal leaves rosulate, lyrate-pinnatisect, 3-6-jugalc, with 3-6 pairs, of small obovate-oblong, alternate lateral segments and a large, suborbicular, terminal segment. irregularly denticulate. Cauline leaves smaller but ± similar to basal ones. Upper leaves sessile oblong dentate. Racemes elongating in fruit, many flowered. Flowers c. 1 cm across, yellow. Pedicels up to 10 mm long in fruit, somewhat thickened and ascending. Sepals 4-6 x 1.5-2 mm, oblong, obtuse. Petals 6-12 x 4-6 mm, obovate, rounded at the apex, shortly clawed. Stamens c. 5:7 mm; anthers c. 1.8 mm, oblong, obtuse. Siliquae erect. ± appressed to axis, 15-20 (-40) x (1-) 2 (-2.5) mm (including 9-12 mm long, linear, narrow, 1-2-seeded beak) ± dehiscent, sometimes indehiscent, densely pubescent with conspicuous whitish, ± appressed hairs to almost glabrous; valves 3-veined. Seeds 10-15 (-17), uniserinte, c. 1.5 mm, sub globose, blackish.
