General Appearance

Sedum acre L., it is a small, caespitose or mat-forming perennial, green or yellowish-green glabrous herb. Stems creeping and erect, often slightly woody at the base. The non-flowering shoots short, 2-8 cm long, densely leafy. The flowering shoots erect 5-15 cm long, leafy. Leaves alternate, densely imbricate, ovoid-triangular or oblong-triangular, ± obtuse, 3-6 x 2-3.5 mm, shortly spurred, rather densely imbricate on the non-flowering shoots, usually deciduous, if present after death then pure white soft and papery. Inflorescence terminal of 2-3 cymes, few flowered (2-5 flowers). Flowers sub sessile to pedicellate, 5-merous. Sepals free, oval or oblong, spurred, 3-5 x 1.5-2 mm. Petals bright yellow, 6-7 mm long, acute to acuminate, patent, very briefly connate at the base. Stamens 10, adnate to the base of the petals. Carpels with 8 ovules. Follicles gibbose-stellate, patent with long slender style.
