General Appearance
Rorippa islandica (Oeder) Borbàs, it is an erect glabrous or slightly hairy annual or biennial herb of marshy places. Lower and middle leaves lyrate-pinnatifid. 3-5- jugate, 5-15 x 1-3 cm with sub ovate terminal lobes and narrow, ± oblong lateral lobes. Upper leaves deeply toothed to pinnatifid, 15-50 x 5-20 mm. Racemes 20-30-flowered, up to 20 cm long in fruit. Flowers c. 2 mm across, pale yellowish. Pedicels up to 10 mm long, (c. as long as the fruit) in fruit, spreading, thin. Sepals c. 2 nun long. Petals about as long as the sepals, 0.5 mm brood. Fruit oblong-ellipsoid, 5-10 x 2·3 mm, glabrous; style c. 1 nun. Seeds many, crowded, c. 0.5 mm in diam., pale brown.
