General Appearance

Diplotaxis acris (Forssk.) Boiss., it is an annual herb, densely hispid to glabrescent, up to 60 cm tall in fruit. Leaves obovate-oblong, sinuate-dentate to lyrate pinatifid, lower petioled, upper pctioled or sub sessile or sessile, ± cuneate below (sometimes seemingly amplexicaul). Flowers usually large, white, pink or violaceous, dark-veined. Sepals (6-) g-15 mm long, subsaccate at base, often violaceous. Petals (12-) 15-25 mm long, obovate, long-clawed. Stamens 6-15: 9-20 mm long; anthers linear-oblong, 2-6 mm long. Siliquae 20-90 x 2-3 mm, many seeded; gynophore 0-1 (-7) mm long; beak 1-3 mm long; stigma bifid, conical, with sub-decurrent lobes; valves membranous. Seeds 2-senate, ovoid, very small, less than a mm long (0.5-0.75 mm), brownish.
