General Appearance
Didesmus aegyptius (L.) Desv., it is an erect, branched annual herb, up 1040cm tall, ± hispid-scabrolls with short white, setaceous, deflexed hairs. Leaves oblong-elliptic to lyrate-pinnatisect with 2-5 pairs of lateral lobes, and much longer terminal lobe, rarely bipinnatisect, finely and shortly serrate-denticulate, up to 10 cm long, lower stalked, uppermost sessile, cuneate, sparsely hispid. Racemes 25-50-nowered, corymbose above, elongating in fruits. Flowers 1 cm across, white, pinkish or violaceous. Pedicels 3-5 mm long in fruit, somewhat thickened, erect, sub appressed. Sepals 3.5-4.5 mm long. Petals (6-) 7-10 mm long, clawed, limb obovate-oblong. Stamens c. 4-6 mm long; anthers c. 1.5 mm long. Siliculae 6-10 x 2.5-3 mm, rugose, constricted and articulated in the middle, variable, glabrous, superposedly 2-seeded. Seed c. 1.5 x 1 mm, brownish, smooth.
