General Appearance
Cynoglossum clandestinum Desf., it is a biennial herb, up to (20-) 30-50 (-60) cm, hirsute. Cauline leaves lanceolate to linear lanceolate, shortly petiolate, amplexicaul hairy on both surfaces. Cymes usually bracteate. Calyx lobes 6-7 mm long, ovate, hirsute. Corolla c. 6 mm long, violet, tube broadly cylindrical, limb shorter than tube, lobes villous. Stamens inserted in the upper part of the tube. Nutlets 5-7 mm in diameter, without a distinct border with external face more or less flat or concave, densely glochidiate.
