General Appearance

Cistus × incanus L. / Syn. Cistus incanus ssp. incanus, it is a shrub, up to 100 cm tall, erect or spreading with stem and pedicels densely white-villous. Stem, hairs generally glandular and no glandular. Leaf: petiole 0-15 mm; blade elliptic, tapered to base, ± wrinkled ad axially, main veins from base generally 1, margin ± wavy. Inflorescence (1)10-flowered; pedicel generally < 2 cm.  Sepals 5, lance-ovate, acuminate. Petals 2-3 cm, rose to purple. Style thread-like, ± equal to stamens. Fruit, valves 5. Seeds small, blackish.
