General Appearance

Alyssum alyssoides (L.) L. / Heterotypic Synonyms: Alyssum minus Rothm., it is an annual herb, erect to ascending or sub spreading, up to 25 (-40) cm long, usually grey-green in appearance, stellately pubescent all over. Leaves oblong-obovate or oblanceolate. Racemes up to 15 cm long, many flowered. Pedicels 3-6 mm long in fruit. Sepals 1.5-2.5 mm long, deciduous. Petals, yellow, 2-3.5 mm long, apex entire to emarginate. Filaments of the short stamens with connate appendages, c. half as long as the filament. Style 0.7-1.5 mm long, pubescent. Fruit, siliculae suborbicular, 3.5-6 mm in diameter, homotrichous usually with equal rays of hairs; valves ± unequally inflated with flattened margin; seeds c. 2 mm with wing up to 0.4 mm wide.
