General Appearance

Maresia nana (DC.) Batt., it is an annual, small, much branched herb, up to 15 cm tall, ± canescent with short stellate hairs. Leaves oblong or linear-oblong, entire to sinuate-dentate. Flowers small, c. 3 (-5) mm across, pink-violet or mauve, sub sessile. Pedicels up to 5 mm long in fruit. Sepals 2-2.5 mm long. Petals 4-5 x I mm. Siliquae (10-) 15-20 (-28) x 0.7 mm, spreading to somewhat up curved, pubescent, torulose on the valves; style up to 1 mm long. Seeds c. 0.8 mm, oblong-ellipsoid, yellowish or brownish.
