General Appearance

Iberis odorata L. / Heterotypic Synonyms: Iberis acutiloba Bertol.,  it is an annual herb, up to 15 cm high. branched from the base, papillose-scabrid. Leaves cauline, linear-lanceolate, mostly pinnatifid at apex with short 1-2 pairs of dent-like lobes. Flowers variable in size, white to mauve, small, in dense corymbs, hardly increading in lenght in fruit. Sepals 2 mm long. Inner petals c. 3 mm long; outer petals 3.5 mm long, hardly radiating. Stamens c. 1.5:2 mm long; anthers c. 0.25 mm. Siliculae ovate 6-8 x 6-7 mm, glabrous, with 2 acute pointed, prominent wings at the apex; sinus 1.5-2.5 mm; wings c. 3 mm long, ± triangular; septum 1 mm broad; style 1-1.5 mm. Seeds ovate to suborbicular, 2.5-3 mm long, brown, margined.
