Flora

Lathyrus hierosolymitanus Boiss., it is an annual, climbing herbaceous plant.  stem is broadly winged. The leaves consist of two leaflets with a long, branched tendril between them; the leaflets are lanceolate, acute, and entire-margined, reaching up to 10 cm in length. The stipules are linear and acute. The inflorescence bears 2-5 flowers on a long stalk; the bract is 3 mm long, and the flower is 2 cm long and brick-red in color, with a broad, slightly lobed standard petal that points upwards. The calyx persists with the fruit, featuring spreading teeth. The fruit is a linear, compressed pod (6-8 × 1 cm) with a 1 cm long beak and a groove along the upper edge marked with red patterns; it contains 10 lenticular-globose seeds.

Wild. I have not found a recent record of this species in Libya so far.
