General Appearance

Ephedra ciliata Fisch. & C.A.Mey. / Heterotypic Synonyms: Ephedra foliata Boiss. ex C.A.Mey., it is a scrambling shrub plant. Branches slender. Leaves 2‑4 at the upper nodes, 0.8‑3.0 x 0.1 cm, linear. Male strobili solitary or 2‑3 per node, flowers 4‑6 pairs, bracteate, bracts connate, obtuse, anthers 3‑4, sessile. Female strobili pedunculate, ovoid, 2‑3‑flowered. Tubillus 1.5 mm long, straight. Berry globose, white. Seeds 2, brownish‑black.
