General Appearance

Echium tuberculatum Hoffmanns. & Link, it is an erect hispid, biennial herb, up to 25-90 cm tall with many flowering branches. Basal leaves 50-130 x 6-15 mm long, narrowly oblanceolate. Cauline leaves 25- 100 x 4-15 mm, narrowly oblong to lanceolate. Calyx linear lanceolate, 5-8 mm at anthesis, slightly accrescent. Corolla 15-25 mm long, dark blue purple, narrowly infundibuliform with 2-4 irregularly exserted stamens. Nutlets 4, pyramidal-beaked, 1.5-2 mm long, tubereled.
