General Appearance

Calepina irregularis (Asso) Thell., it is an annual herb, up to 20-60 (-80) cm tall, glabrous, ± glaucous, simple or branched from the base. Basal leaves up to 9 cm long, lyrate to sinuate-dentate. Cauline leaves smaller, oblong, ovate to lanceolate, sessile, auricled at base, dentate to almost entire. Racemes 20-5o-flowered. Flowers white rarely pinkish, c. 6 mm across. Sepals c. 1.5 mm long. Petals unequal, inner 2 c. 2 mm long, outer 2 c. 3 mm long. Stamens c. 1.5-2 mm long; anthers c. 0.25 mm long. Pedicels 3-5 mm long increasing up to 12 mm in fruit, filiform. Siliculae 2.5-4 x 2-2.5 (-3) mm, ovoid-globose to ellipsoid, shortly beaked, reticulately rugose. Seed c. 1.5 mm in diam. whitish.
