Ononis ornithopodioides L., it is an annual herb, erect to ascending, up to 30 cm tall, glandular-hairy. Leaves 3-foliolale; leaflets 10-15 mm long, obovate to oblanceolate or oblong-elliptic, serrate. the terminal one with petiolate c. as long as the other leaflets; stipules adnate to petiolate for about half their length, ovate-lanceolate, acute, almost entire; lateral leaflets sessile, somewhat smaller. Flower yellow, 6-9 mm long, usually 2 together on peduncles longer than petiole. Calyx-teeth subulate-filiform, 4-5 times as long as tube, pilose. Corolla about as long as the calyx, various parts ± equaling. Pods usually 20-25 x 2-2.5 mm, linear, flattened, torulose, pendulous, short-beaked, glandular-hairy, usually 6-10-sccdcd. Seeds c. 2 mm, sub globular, brown to red, tuberculate.
