General Appearance

Cardamine hirsuta L., it is an annual herb, up to 10-30 cm tall, erect, usually with a basal rosette of 2-7-jugate, 2-10 cm long leaves. Cauline leaves 0-few, ± similar to the basal leaves but smaller and with few lobes, glabrous or sparsely hairy; leanets ovate-orbicular, the terminal slightly longer, 6-10 mm in diam., sub entire to irregularly few lobulate. Racemes 10-30-flowered, up to 10 cm long in fruit. Pedicels ascending with ± erect siliquae, filiform, c. half as long as the fruit. Sepals 2-2.5 mm long. Petals c. 3 mm long, sometimes suppressed. Stamens 6, rarely 2 outer abortive. Siliquae 15-25 mm x 1 mm, straight, compressed, glabrous; valves membranous with a faint mid-vein; septum membranous, not veined. Seeds c. 1 mm long, obscurely margined or not.
