General Appearance

Ammosperma cinereum (Desf.) Baill., it is an annual herb, hispid pubescent, simple or sparsely branched from the base, up to 5-30 cm long, sub erect to decumbent, flexuous in fruit. Lower leaves petiolate, pinnatisect, in rosette; segments linear, to sub filiform, 1-2-lobulate, obtuse. Upper leaves few, distant, shortly petioled to sub sessile, similar as the basal leaves. Inflorescences 5-25-flowered, lax, on a zigzag axis (peduncle), flowers white to violaceous or pinkish, c. 1.5 mm across; pedicels 5-10 mm long, increasing up to 45 mm in fruits, ascending. Sepals c. 4 mm long. Petals 7-10 mm long, Stamens c. 3.5-6 mm long; anthers c. 1.5 mm long. Ovary sessile c, 5.5 mm long, densely pubescent with c. 0,5 mm long simple, hairs; style glabrous; stigma, capitate bilobed. Siliquae (20-) 25-40 x 1.5 mm, linear, torulose, shortly pubescent; Valves membranous, 1-veined. Seeds ± 2-scriate, c. 0.7 x 0.4 mm, brown, oblong
