General Appearance

Arnebia linearifolia A. DC., it is an annual herb, up to 5- 10 (- 15) cm tall, with glabrescent branches, with yellow, appressed spreading hairs. Leaves 15-50 x 3 x 10 mm. Basal leaves oblong, spathulate. Upper leaves linear, narrow with appressed hairs. Bracts linear, somewhat shorter than calyx. Flowers pale yellow. Calyx inflated, scarcely indurated at base, tubercled and hairy along prominent nerves; lobes linear lanceolate, 1.5-2 mm broad, growing in fruit up to 20 mm long, 4-5 mm broad. Corolla subtubulose, 10-14 mm long, villous, with a limb c. 4 mm in diameter. Style bifid, stigma 2, capitate-reniform. Nutlets 2, ovate, 5-3.5 mm long, slightly verruculose or rugulose.
