General Appearance

Lobularia libyca (Viv.) Meisn., it is an annual herbaceous species, covered in a dense covering of appressed, medifixed hairs, branched from the base, with stems up to 30 cm long, ascending or erect. Leaves entire, oblanceolate or linear-oblong, obtuse, with an attenuate base. Flowers pedicellate, arranged in terminal racemes, initially dense, then elongated and lax. Sepals oval, with barely scarious margins, covered in appressed hairs. Petals glabrous, with a white, entire limb, abruptly tapering to a claw. Stamens 6. Stigma capitate, depressed. Silicles pedicellate, spreading to erect-spreading, dehiscent, c. 5 x 3.7-4 mm, ovate to oval, apiculate, strongly compressed, pubescent, with appressed, medifixed hairs. Seeds orange-ochre to brown (in old seeds), glabrous, c. 1.35-1.55 x 1.1-1.35 mm, oval to suborbicular, flat, winged all around.
