General Appearance

Genista microcephala Coss. & Durieu, it is an erect shrub, up to c. 50 cm tall, with spineless, elongated upper branches, branches shorter and spiny in the lower parts only, adpressedly pubescent. Leaves 1-foliolate, alternate, up to c.10×3 mm, minutely stipulate, adpressed hairy. Flowers c. 8 (-9) mm long, yellow, in terminal, bracteate fascicles or heads, 4-10. Calyx densely pubescent. Corolla 2-2.5 times as long as the calyx. Pods ovoid, beaked, c. 10 mm long, brown-pubescent.
