Scabiosa eremophila Boiss., it is an annual herb, dwarf, 2-8 cm long, procumbent, very leafy and pubescent or scabrid, viscid herbaceous. Basal leaves entire or toothed, tapering into a narrow petiole. Middle cauline leaves pinnatifid, with linear, obtuse lobes. Upper cauline leaves entire, linear, obtuse (sometime all the leaves entire). Flowering heads almost sessile, c. 0.5 cm in diam., few-flowered, non-radiating (i.e. all flowers alike), flowers, dirty white with a pink tinge. Fruiting head spherical. Involucral bracts 6-7 (-8), linear-ovate, acute, hairy, slightly longer than the flowers. Involucel tube ovate, tube obconical, longitudinally 8-ribbed, with alternating 8-grooves but no pits, ribs ciliate; corona 1-2 mm long, whitish, fimbriate hairy, with 8, prominent nerves; setae of the calyx (2-) 3 (-5). small, as long as or shorter than the corona. Corolla flesh coloured, 5-lobed, entire.
