General Appearance
Capparis decidua (Forssk.) Edgew., it is a low shrub, sometimes attaining the size of a small tree, up to 5 m tall, almost leafless with stipular spines and few to many flowered corymbose inflorescences or short lateral shoots. Flowers 1-2 across, zygomorphic. usually brick-red to pinkish, on 1-1.5 cm long pedicels. Stamens about twice as long as the petals, often red-coloured. Fruits 10-15 mm in diameter, globose, glabrous, smooth, deep red when ripe, on about equally long gynophore. Seeds few, reniform. 2-5 mm in diameter.

Notes
Wild, rare and confined to the southern parts of Libya. The wood is hard and bitter. resistant to white ants attack. I have not found any recent records of this species in Libya so far.
