General Appearance

Matthiola sinuata (L.) W.T.Aiton , it is a biennial herb, in reasonably sheltered sites can grow to a height of 30 cm, but often they are spreading in form and rather broader than they are tall, The grey-green leaves and stems are covered with thick grey down. Flowers of sea stock have four petals, deep pinkish-violet, violet, very sweet scented at night, Seed pods are up to 12 cm long when fully developed, and they are slightly curved.
