General Appearance
Matthiola lunata DC., it is an annual herb, ± pubescent with unequal hairs. greenish in appearance, up to 10-50 cm long, sub erect to diffuse, very variable. Leaves sinuate-dentate to entire. Flowers purple violet. Pedicels up to 4 mm long in lower fruits, stout. Sepals 6-12 mm long. Petals 15-20 (-25) x 3-6 mm. oblong-obovate; nectaries very small, inconspicuous. Siliquae 30-70 x (1-) 1.5-2 mm. cylindrical, straight, spreading or deflexed, torulose; horns 24 mm, sub obtuse, curved upwards; stigma short.
