General Appearance

Phonus mareoticus (Delile) G.López  ̸  Homotypic Synonyms: Carduncellus mareoticus (Delile) Hanelt, Carthamus mareoticus Delile, it is a small, more or less frutescent perennial plant with narrow, few, short spined leaves. Capitula numerous, 15-20 mm long, pale-yellow. Supplementary involueral bracts twice as long as the florets.
