General Appearance

Suaeda maritima (L.) Dumort., it is an annual plant 10-50 cm, glabrous, glaucous green or reddish, with herbaceous stems, hard at the base, erect or spreading-diffuse; leaves numerous, the stems elongated (1-3 cm), linear-demi cylindrical, obtuse or acute, enlarged at the base, opaque, glaucescent; the smaller florals protruding from the glomeruli with 2-3 flowers; fruiting perianth globose-depressed, with obtuse-ovate lobes, obscurely keeled dorsally; seed ordinarily horizontal, shiny.
