General Appearance

Volutaria lippii (L.) Cass. ̸ Homotypic Synonyms:  Amberboa lippii (L.) DC., // Infraspecifics: Volutaria lippii ssp  lippii, it is an annual herb, up to 20-40 cm long,  with a straight stem, branched, leafy. The basal leaves grow in a rosette, are petiolate, obovate, lyre-shaped to pinnate, the segments are oblong, remotely toothed. The stem leaves are shortly petiolate, pinnate to pinnately divided. The capitula grow singly at the end of the branches. The involucre is ovate, 10-12 mm long.  Involucre bracts grow in several rows, overlapping like a roof, are hairy, with lanceolate appendages, up to 3 mm long, yellowish, brown at the base. The marginal flowers are ligulate, sterile, the ligules are light pink. The fruit is an achene 3-4 mm long, with fluff.
