General Appearance
Urospermum dalechampii (L.) Scop. ex F.W.Schmidt , it is a perennial herb, erect, up to 10-60 cm, pubescent, simple or branched, Basal leaves 50-190 x 10-40 mm, hispid, runcinate-pinnatifid, attenuate into a narrowly winged petiole. Cauline leaves sessile, amplexicaule, lanceolate or ovate, entire or coarsely dentate. Capitula up to 50 mm in diam., and 25-35 mm long. 1 (-3) on a peduncle. Peduncles 30-100 mm, weakly inflated below the involucre. Involucral bracts 15-25 x 2.5-6 mm, lanceolate, subacute, hairy or softly setulose. Ligules pale yellow, often with red strip on the outer face. Body of the cypsela 4-5.5 mm, oblong, with 6-7, short, obtuse, ± laterally projected appendages; beak 9-14 mm, scabrid, gradually thickened below into an inflated base which is confluent with the body of cypsela, scabrid; pappus deciduous, brownish-white, more or less equal to the size of the entire cypsela.
