General Appearance

Suaeda pruinosa Lange, it is a shrub up to 50 cm, woody, glaucous, pruinosa. Stems ± prostrate; with whitish hairs, like the young shoots and leaves. Leaves up to 4.5 (8) or 1.3 (2) mm, semi-cylindrical and with an apex that ranges from obtuse to slightly acute; those of the inflorescence 2(4) mm, normally imbricate. Flowers 0.8-2 mm in diameter, sessile, grouped in glomeruli of 3(5). Perianth pieces up to 0.7 mm. Anthers 0.7-1.1 mm. Ovary sub cylindrical. Stigmata (2) 3, 0.4-1 mm, filiform and papillose. Seeds 0.9-1.4 x 0.8-1 mm, ± pyriform and globose, crustaceous and with a scalar form testa, normally vertical.
