General Appearance

Ornithogalum gussonei Ten. / Homotypic Synonyms: Ornithogalum tenuifolium Guss., it is a bulbous geophyte, herb with ovoid, tunicated bulb. c. 3 cm in diameter; tunics membranous, whitish to brownish in colour. Leaves only 1–2 mm wide. Inflorescence with 1–5 flowers. Inner tepals shorter and about twice as narrow as the 3 outer ones. the inner and outer tepals are barely. Capsule notched, the 6 obtuse carpels converging in pairs at the apex.
