General Appearance
Onopordum arenarium (Desf.) Pomel , it is a biennial herb, caulescent, tomentose with stem ascending, simple or branched, winged up to the apex; wings strongly sinuate-toothed: teeth strong-spiny. Leaves pinnatifid with lobes sub-triangular, incised-toothed, teeth spiny. Capitula sub sessile, terminal or sub terminal on the stem and branches. Involueral bract abruptly narrowed into 20 mm long, spreading spine.
