General Appearance

Nidorella aegyptiaca (L.) J.C.Manning & Goldblatt /  Homotypic Synonyms: Conyza aegyptiaca (L.) Aiton, Erigeron aegyptiacus L., it is an annual or biennial herb, up to 20-50 cm, erect, ± sticky and aromatic,  Leaves sessile, variable; lamina up to c.10 cm, linear to narrowly lanceolate or narrowly oblanceolate, sub entire or coarsely dentate to lobed or more deeply lobed; base amplexicaul. Inflorescence of lax, elongate or corymbose, terminal or axillary panicles. Capitula c.12-15 mm, hemispherical, often nodding. Phyllaries 2-5-seriate. Achenes c.1 mm, oblanceolate, flattened, minutely pubescent, ribbed at the edges. Pappus of numerous, barbellate setae, united at the base, persistent and very accrescent.
