General Appearance

Muscari stenanthum Freyn , it is a bulbous geophyte ,glabrous herb. Bulbs small ovoid, tunicate, 1-2 cm in diameter with numerous bulbils. Leaves 3-10 per plant, linear canaliculate, narrowing towards the tip, 10-25 x 0.3-0.5 cm, usually longer than the flowering scape. Scape 10-20 cm long at flowering, up to c. 35 cm long in fruit. Inflorescence congested, with 10-20 flowers, top ones usually sterile. Pedicels short 2-3 mm tong. Perianth ± cylindrical, c. 6 mm long, bluish, with white reflexed teeth. Stamens 6, biseriate. Ovary obovoid with clearly marked valves. Capsules, obovoid-triquelrate, c. 8 mm long.
