General Appearance

Launaea mucronata (Forssk.) Muschl., it is an annual or perennial herbaceous, , hairless, highly branched plant, reaching a height of 40-70 cm. Basal leaves are star-shaped, petiolate, 10-15 cm long and 3 cm wide, with toothed lobes. The upper leaves are small, sessile, lobed, and have appendages at their bases. The flower heads are numerous, terminal, yellow, and 2-3 cm wide, on a peduncle. The fruit is small and cylindrical, and has white hairy strands.
