General Appearance

Lasiopogon muscoides (Desf.) DC., it is an annual herb, whitish-tomentose. cushion like; lateral stems 2-5 (-12) cm. slender. Cauline leaves 1-3 x 0.3-0.5 mm, oblanceolate. obtuse; leaves just below the cluster of capitula 3-5 x 0.5-1 mm. ± spathulate. Capitula 2.5-3 mm long. 1-1.5 mm diameter. bell-shaped. Involucre sub-triscriate. Outermost involucral bracts 1-2 x 0.3-0.5 mm. ovate, ± herbaceous, lanate. Inner involucral bracts 2.5-3 x 0.25 mm. narrowly linear-oblong, coriaceous. Female florets corolla 1.5 mm. tubular, 4-toothed; ovary 0.5 mm long. Hermaphrodite florets corolla 2 mm, 4-toothed, tube gradually widening upwards; ovary 0.5-0.75 mm long. Cypsela 0.5-0.7 mm long, triquetrous, grooved, with the convex side 3-ribbed. Pappusas long as or slightly longer than the corolla tube..
