General Appearance

Lactuca viminea (L.) J.Presl & C.Presl, it is a biennial plant entirely glabrous, not bushy, 50-100 cm erect, very branched with tapering, very spreading and even divaricate branches. Lower leaves roncinate-pinnatipartite with lanceolate-dentate or oblong lobes. Upper ones linear, decurrent with narrow decurrence, linear, 10-35 mm long. Capitula very numerous sub sessile, solitary or fascicles in racemes along the branches, offering 4 pale yellow ligules; beak equaling about a quarter of the achene.
