General Appearance

Koelpinia linearis Pall., it is a annual herb, up to 40 cm, slender. Stems simple or few branched, erect or ascending, hairy or glabrescent in the upper parts; hairs simple and biramus or bifurcate. Leaves, linear or filiform, mostly crowded in the lower parts, 30-80 (-100) mm long. Capitula,1-3 on a branch, occasionally ± sub sessile capitula in the basal parts of the plant. Peduncles 2-4 (-5) cm; capitula 6-7 (-9) x (2-) 3.5-4 mm (in fruiting 10-30 mm broad). Involucral bracts 5-7, linear, entire, hairy. Cypscla (8-) 12-18 mm; hooks simple or with subsidiary hooks, hairy; hairs white-glistening; apex with 6-7 (-9), rigid hooks; hook similar to those on the back, connate on the base.
