General Appearance
Damasonium alisma Mill., it is a helophyte, annual plant up to 5 to 30 cm, glabrous with fibrous root. Stems bare, erect or spreading. Leaves all radical, long petiolate, oval or oblong, rounded or slightly heart-shaped at the base, trinerved. Inflorescence with 1 to 2 (3) pauciflorous whorls. Hermaphrodite flowers with white or pink petals of variable size (0 to 10 mm). Fruits, star-shaped follicles at maturity with 2 to 5 seeds.
