General Appearance

Crepis amplexifolia Willk., it is an annual herb, hispid, up to 10-40 cm. Basal leaves petiolate, dentate to lyrate pinnatifid. Cauline leaves truncate or cordate and amplexicaule at the base. Capitula many flowered. Involucre 8-14 x 4-7 mm. canescent-tomentose and finely glandular pubescent. Inner involucral bracts indurating and enclosing the peripheral cypsela at maturity. Cypsela dimorphic, 4–6 mm; peripheral cypsela, attenuate above, unbaked; inner cypsela abruptly contracted into beak; beak as long as the cypsela body; pappus 3-5 mm. 1-seriate, very fine, soft, and deciduous.
