General Appearance

Coleostephus paludosus (Durieu) Alavi, it is an annual herb, slightly hairy, slender, up to15·35 (40-) cm tall. Leaves irregularly crenate toothed, Basal leaves petiolate, spathulate, truncate, 45-60 (-70) mm. Mid-cauline leaves obovate-oblong. Uppermost cauline leaves lanceolate, entire. Capitula solitary on a long, leafless peduncle. Ligules oblong, truncate, 3 (-4) toothed. Cypsela obovate-cylindric, pappose or epappose; pappus when present small, coroniform; basal callus small, yellowish.
