Calotropis procera (Aiton) W.T.Aiton
General Appearance
Calotropis procera (Aiton) W.T.Aiton , it is an erect shrub or tree, up to 6 m tall, much branched from the base, latex milky; young branches covered with white cottony tomentum. Leaves up to 27.0 cm x 16.5 cm; broadly ovate, ovate-oblong, elliptic or obovate, entire, base cordate, apex acute, sub sessile, young leaves covered with white cottony tomentum, becoming sub glabrous. Flowers c. 2.5 cm across, white outside, purplish within, darker on the tips. Pedicels 1.2-4.2 cm long. Sepals c. 5 mm long. Corolla 1.1-1.2 cm long, divided 2/3 the way down. Fruit 10.8-14.5 x 9.7-11.7 cm, sub globose. Seeds c. 8 mm long, c. 6 mm broad, ovate, camose.
