General Appearance

Calendula suffruticosa Vahl , it is a perennial, woody at the base, rarely biennial. Stems ascending or decumbent. Lower leaves spatulate to oblanceolate. Upper leaves oblong or elliptic to lanceolate, acute or obtuse, auriculate. Involucre  9–13 × 11–18 (–25) mm. Flowers yellow; hemiligulate flowers with a tube 0.5–2 mm long and a limb (9–) 11–20 mm long; disc flowers (3.7–) 4–5 mm long. Anthers 2.13 mm long. Achenes heteromorphic; outer ones up to 2.2 cm long, generally spreading, with a long or short beak, middle ones with 3 wings or navicular, sometimes with a beak, innermost ones annular or hooked.
