General Appearance

Bombycilaena discolor (Pers.) M.Laínz, it is an annual herb, silver-white except for the brownish c1uslers of capitula. Stems (3-) 5-20 cm. branched from the base. erect to sub erect. Leaves (9-) 12-15 I (2-) 3-5 mm, linear-oblong or narrowly linear-obovate, flat. Cluster of capitula sub globose, (7-) 10-15 mm radius; subtending leaves shorter or nearly equal to the cluster. Inner involucral bracts (2-)4-5 (-6) x 3-4 mm in fruit. Densely woolly. Hermaphrodite florets 1-3. Cypsela 1.5 (42) x 1mm.greenish.
