General Appearance

Bellis annua L. / Infraspecifics:  Bellis annua ssp. annua, it is an annual herb, slender, densely hispid to sub glabrous, (2.5-) 5- 10 (-20) cm. Stems (1-) 2-3, simple, leafy, ascending or sub erect. Leaves 6-25 (-50) x3-15 (-20) mm, oblanceolate to broadly obovate-spathulate, entire to 2-3 toothed on each side near the apex; petiole usually distinct in the lower leaves, less so in the upper leaves. Peduncles 1.5-10 cm, slender, monocephalic. Capitula 5-15 (-20) mm in diam., white with yellow center. Involucres 3-4 mm broad. Involucral bracts 2.5-3.5 mm, broadly lanceolate, acute to subacute. Outer involucral bracts as long as or slightly longer than the inner, imbricate, Ray florets 11-15 (-30); ligule 4-5 (-8) mm. Disc corollas 1.5 mm. Cypselas 1.2-1.4 mm, finely pubescent.
