General Appearance
Anthemis boveana J.Gay , it is an annual herb up to (0.5-) 5-40 cm high, erect or procumbent. aromatic, very leafy. appressed hairy. Stems weakly ribbed, usually branched in the upper half. Leaves punctate glandular, (-2 pinnatipartite, broadly obovate-oblong in outline; lobes lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, acute with small. callus mucro; base of the petiole with few lateral lobes. Capitula solitary to few, radiate, yellow, pedunculate; peduncles not thickened in fruiting, with few rudimentary leaves. Receptacle convex, puleaceous throughout. Involucral hemispheral; involucral bracts 2-4 rowed, lanceolate to oblong, crisp hairy. Outer involucral bracts herbaceous with brown, scarious margins. Acute obtuse. Inner involucral bracts ± completely scarious, obtuse with mid-nerve somewhat herbaceous in the lower half. Palea as long as the tubular floret, scarious with distinct mid-nerve, oblanceolate and tapered above into an acute tip or cuneate with unequal 2-3 lobes, tips yellow. Marginal florets ligulate, yellow or golden yellow. female, fertile; ligules c. 5 mm long, emarginate. Disc florets tubular, 5-toothed. yellow to golden yellow, corolla tube and ovary with semi translucent, globular, sticky exudations. Cypsela incurved; marginal cypselas with 5, well-marked tuberculate ribs; central most cypselas with faint, hairy ribs.
